Two worlds

Glimpsed: Under the scanty shade of a papaya tree, a boy getting a haircut. A tea-colored dog napped nearby; he stretched and yawned. The air in the hot afternoon was still and heavy. From my office balcony I looked down at them and imagined the snipping sounds of the scissors; nothing else moved.

Then I went back into the air conditioned air and sat down at my cubicle in front of my computer screen.

Sudhappa lives in the best part of Bangalore.
In a shanty that houses his three kids. And the billy goat.
He needs thick curtains for the lights of the Soudha never sleep.
And perhaps because he cant afford wooden doors.
Am not sure the job of watchman of the garage pays well.
But then what a place to live...
Two jacaranda and a fire of the forest.
One bamboo grove that grows mad with age.
I watch from my window while I have my lunch,
Sudhappa napping; oblivious to the din of the cars washed.
lucky man...
