Temple dust

Evening temple dust
she walks
with jasmine in her hair
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Square temple pond
reflects
the priest's daughter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Written on a visit to an old temple in rural Kerala, September 2001. The light and shade, the stillness of the green water, the soft-focus, forgiving glow of the oil lamps was all magical.

Hey GGB,
how come you don't have a blog of your own, seeing as you write well. Or is it hidden away from prying eyes such as mine :-)

Thanks D.
But I don't have a blog of my own.

Maybe you should consider it. :-)

Hmmm...
Don't think I could sustain it.
Earlier I was ambivalent about it,
Now am not so sure :-)

Plus imagine what GGB would feel?
Its bad enough that I take his initials...

You took his initials? OK, NOW I'm officially confused.
Just how many Anonymi are out there, cruising thru my blog and leaving comments?
Step away from your computers and hold your hands up!
~Your very perplexed commentee.

I think GGB will forgive my indiscretion
For I know that he was a jovial man
and laid to rest in 1824

But write a blog under his initials?
Those are shoes I dare not try

“But words are things, and a small drop of ink,
Falling like dew, upon a thought, produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think;
'Tis strange, the shortest letter which man uses
Instead of speech, may form a lasting link
Of ages; to what straits old Time reduces
Frail man, when paper - even a rag like this - ,
Survives himself, his tomb, and all that's his.”

GGB (the original)

That should clear the air, me thinks... :-)
GGB (not even a patch on him)

Er, yes, clear as crystal, in fact.
Whew!
Still a tad unclear on the "obnoxious one" though.
And now if you'll introduce yourself, fishsnap...
